Another homecoming for Oxbridge Alumni!

In a build-up to the 20th anniversary of the college, the alumni met on the 29th of June, 2013. This would be the second time the association would be meeting. However, this gathering was particularly productive because of the far-reaching decisions accomplished.

The meeting started at 2:15pm with a short prayer followed by a sumptuous meal, which to most old students is a taste of the memory of the delicious meals, the students often enjoy. As this was going on, a video documentary entitled, Oxbridge Over the Years was playing to the amusement of the old students, as they relived the nostalgic memory of their years in the college.

The Managing Director of the college, Dr.(Mrs.)C.O Ogunsanya who hosted the gathering, made her opening remarks, which included a short presentation on the imperativeness of the alumni, espousing the mutual benefits for both the members of the alumni and the college. She particularly eulogized the virtue of giving back to our immediate community in whatever way one is endowed.

The meeting and college was also privileged to hear some of the opinions of the alumni which are germane to the success of the college and especially the forthcoming 20th anniversary slated for December,2013. One of the highlights of the meeting was the formation of an adhoc committee to steer the affairs of the alumni. The following officials were nominated:

After what was obviously a fruitful coming-together, with warm exchange of pleasantries among old friends, a group photograph was taken on the steps of the college entrance.

The next meeting of the association will hold on the 27th of July, 2013.

An interview featuring our Principal, Ms Carol Scott-Mchale was published in yesterdays (Thursday 20th June) Guardian Newspaper.

In the article the Principal talks about her contribution to the college in the year she has been with us and her ambitions and aspirations for Oxbridge. She goes on to talk about our recent triumphs, such as the college becoming a COBIS member and some of our strategic alliances.

Annual NCUK International Foundation Year Project Presentations

One of the prerequisites of the NCUK International Foundation Year programme (IFY) is the presentation of a chosen topic, which the students research and make a formal presentation on before a panel of assessors.

 

The exercise for the 2012/2013 academic year commenced on the 3^rd of June, 2013 with about 55 IFY students scheduled to make presentations. The topics of the presentations are drawn from the 3 streams of the programme-Engineering, Business and Law. With this diversity, the audience made of lecturers, fellow students, the Managing Director of the college (Dr.(Mrs) C. O Ogunsanya) and the College Principal (Ms.Carol McHale), cannot but be educated with interesting and contemporary topics such as “Effects of Hip-Hop on Teenagers and Parents”, “Effects of Cyber Bullying”, “Music and Effects on Teenage Psychology” to name a few.

 

Kudos to the students for making spirited efforts, displaying maturity, soundness of mind and intellectual acumen in making their presentations and also to the IFY lecturers, Mrs.Erukuebami and Mrs.Idahosa for preparing the students.

My daughter gained an  in-depth understanding and knowledge of her subjects during her course of study at Oxbridge Tutorial College. Oxbridge offers good student-teacher relationships and a wonderful student experience. My daughter has such good memories of her foundation year and she has good results to show for it.

Some construction going on at Oxbridge. As you know we’re always trying to improve our offering to students and staff. We carried out a survey last year to see what additional facilities were wanted and we came up with??!!……..
