Independence Day Celebrations @ OTC

In the spirit of love for motherland, the college students and members of staff, on the 3rd of October 2014, came together to mark the 54TH Independence Anniversary event with pomp and ceremony, in what has become a yearly celebration at the college. With the Managing Director of the college in attendance, one could only imagine the importance attached to the event.

The programme commenced at about 3:30pm with an array of interesting presentations by the 4 Houses in the college, namely Soyinka (Red),Balewa (Green),Azikwe (Blue) and Awolowo (Yellow). They all put spirited efforts along with the support of the House tutors, to outwit the other Houses, through dramas, songs, mimes and other creative displays. In the end, Balewa House emerged the overall winner, while Awolowo came second.

The anniversary cake was also cut to the admiration of those present.Awards were also given to best dressed male and female for both  students and members of staff. The culmination of the event that ended at about 5:30pm was the singing of the theme song, ‘We are the future’ by both students and staff. What a day, with participants working with common goal to make the occasion a success. That is what we need in Nigeria!
