Azikwe House Leads the Pack!

In a keenly contested debate among the 4 Houses in the college, Azikwe emerged the overall winner!!

With a very controversial topic (COMBATING BOKO-HARAM. SHOULD THE FG USE DIALOGUE OR FORCE? ) we expected and got a fiercely contested debate!

The debaters were judged based on 4 criteria: Content, Grammar, Creativity and Confidence. Believe Ohioma set the ball rolling when she tried to convince the panel of judges that dialogue is the only way to tackle issues surrounding Boko-Haram in Nigeria. Her supporting speaker, Esther Roman also drove home her points.

Carlton Ayoola, in supporting the use force,  was able to captivate the audience with his confident delivery. However it was his supporting speaker, Chijioke Eke, who calmly took the audience down the memory lane, citing copious instances where dialogue has failed.

Awolowo House represented by Jaiye Ogunbiyi and Moyinoluwa Oyelohunnu put up a spirited effort to convey that dialogue is the key.

Last but not least was the presentation by Balewa House represented by Ebubechi Wakili-Aliyu and Gabriel Durojaiye.

In the end, Azikwe House came first with 98 points, Awolowo House 87, Balewa 76 and Soyinka 7o. The panel of judges however commended the oratory prowess of Ebubechi Wakili-Aliyu who was adjudged the overall best speaker.

Well done everyone. A very stimulating and well executed discussion.
